Shortly after the tragic loss of Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin, the remainder of the band was asked to play at Oliver Martin's birthday party and since the success of that show, the band continues to play live performances at locations throughout Toronto, now beginning to dip into studio work. Since the birthday show at the Hideout on Queen Street, they acquired a new lead guitarist, Nick Morris, and a new bassist, Andrei Zagorevskii. The band then very quickly became "Blues in D", named in honor of former band member, friend and brother, Dylan Ellis.
Now 5 members deep (Cody Ellis, Nick Morris, Andrei Zagorevskii, Tura Cousins-Wilson and Ben McPhee), including 3 guitarists, Blues in D is loving their gigs, their recordings and their fans. But most importantly, they continue to love their inspiration and their band manager - while you may not find him at any of their shows, he's behind every note they play.
If you wish to contact the band for any reason at all, please feel free to contact Ben McPhee at the following email address: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

'Blues in D' started as Dylan & Cody Ellis (Lead Guitars), Tura Cousins-Wilson (Drums) and Ben McPhee (Vocals, Bass & Rhythm Guitar), initially called "The BDC Blues Band". The band was formed to serve as an evening opener to a Valentine's Day party being thrown by 2point0 Magazine - a student lifestyle magazine that Dylan Ellis, Oliver Martin and Ben McPhee had started in their 4th year of University, and that they, along with friend Will Morton, were attempting to launch in print in 2008.
